End Cap Fiber

Fiber end cap is a small piece of coreless quartz, which was spliced to the fiber tip to reduce the light intensity at the air-to-glass interface. Additionally there is another design to fuse the graded-index (GRIN) fiber to the single mode fiber to obtain the collimated or focused light in the probe application.

End Cap Fiber Types

Why We Choose End Cap Fiber?

Fibers with different end caps are chosen to meet specific application requirements. Different end caps, such as GRIN (Gradient Index) lenses or specialized structures, allow for customized beam control, such as focusing or expanding the light beam. This is crucial in applications like fiber optic sensors, laser delivery systems, and optical microscopy. Additionally, certain end caps provide protection to delicate optical components and enable efficient light coupling, enhancing overall system performance. Choosing fibers with different end caps ensures optimal performance and functionality for specific application needs.

FAQ of End Cap Fiber

Q

What is fiber end cap?

A

Fiber end cap is a high-power component designed for the output end of high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers.

Q

What is the function of end cap?

A

It can reduce the optical power density at the output end by beam expansion.

Q

How do end caps work?

A

Fiber end caps modify the optical properties at the end of a fiber to control the light beam, improve coupling efficiency, and protect components.
